Company Background
SATAVIA applies data analytics and cutting-edge atmospheric science to make aviation smarter and greener, leveraging high-performance-computing to accomplish our mission of cutting aviation’s climate impact by 60% (or 2% of all human climate impact).
SATAVIA leads the field in aircraft contrail prevention, enabling eco-conscious operators to drastically reduce per-flight climate impact by eliminating harmful surface warming. Compared to multi-year timelines for other green aviation solutions, SATAVIA’s technology is a unique example of low-hanging fruit in the battle to decarbonise aviation.
SATAVIA is in the process of growing a team of exceptional people, combining talent in atmosphere and climate science, aerospace engineering, and full-stack cloud software and data-engineering.
We are now looking for passionate and motivated individuals to join our expanding team. Based in our Cambridge office, you will become part of a fun and highly collaborative environment, combining innovation, team spirit, and commitment to expand the art of the possible in green aviation.
The Opportunity
We are currently seeking experienced scientists and analysts to join our team and to help develop our meteorological and contrail modelling capabilities. This role requires you to collaborate with our science and engineering teams to strengthen our contrail evolution modelling and scientific validation capabilities. You will be expected to understand, communicate, implement, and validate leading scientific methods and models from academia as well as enhance and validate our own datasets.
Our ideal candidate should be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with excellent team skills and a demonstrated ability towards rapid prototyping of research developments. You will need to be comfortable presenting scientific methods and results to technical and non-technical audiences including engagement with customers.
If you are a talented, detail-oriented Atmospheric Scientist with an interest in contrail modelling and science communication, then we want to hear from you!
