The Opportunity
CGD is now looking for an Assembly and Test Technician to join our growing test and reliability team. Reporting to the Senior Test and Reliability Engineer, this is an amazing opportunity to join CGD at an early stage and help drive the function for CGD’s GaN power products.
The Assembly and Test Technician will be responsible for assembling and testing solutions in conjunction with other CGD Engineers, which will be for customers, partners and for internal development.
Working closely with the Lab Manager, the Assembly and Test Technician will help with the day to day running of the Lab, ensuring that things run smoothly. This will include working with engineers and technicians to adapt and improve test equipment and procedures, as well as taking over the process for dispatching and receiving all of CGD’s components and systems, to both customers and partners.
Main Responsibilities
Typical tasks will include:
- Electrical testing of semiconductor components
- Updating and filing of results on the CGD database
- Shipping and logistics of components. This includes packaging, liaising with couriers, preparing and filing shipping forms
- Manual lab work such as soldering, electronics and cable assembly
- Mechanical work such as drilling, milling and mechanical assembly
- Organising the logistics in the lab. This includes stock keeping and sourcing of components, tools and materials.
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience working in a workshop or laboratory
- IT knowledge is important as our test equipment is computer-controlled
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Previous experience working with tools in a workshop or lab
- Be able to follow standard working procedures
- Able to work independently and also operate effectively as part of a team
- Proactive mindset
- An eye for detail and quality
- Reliable
- Safety-conscious
Desirable
- Experience in testing of electronic components or systems
- The ability to read circuit diagrams
- Experience with hand soldering or reflow soldering
