Job Overview | The RF/Analogue (RFA) systems team is part of the Analogue department based in Cambridge UK and is responsible for defining and verifying the system and circuit level specifications for RFIC Radio transceivers for use in HiFi audio streaming applications in wireless speakers, wireless headphones and wireless earbuds. Predominantly, these are Bluetooth transceivers operating to the latest releases of the Bluetooth core specification. Additionally, the team is developing a class leading low frequency radio technology that promises to overcome some of the inherent limitations of Bluetooth which are due to its high frequency operation. Role: You will be a senior level RFA systems engineer who will work with the highly experienced system lead and be will be responsible for system level design, system mathematical modelling & simulation, laboratory system emulation development and system verification of the advanced low frequency transceiver technology. Your work will involve close cooperation with other groups working on analogue circuits, Tx and Rx modem, RF validation, digital design and software/firmware. This is a great opportunity to be involved at the early stages of a disruptive technology, before it is even standardised. Opportunities also exist in the future to gain experience of Bluetooth wireless audio streaming transceivers and other future high frequency radio transceiver developments. Team: You will be joining a world class highly experienced team who have a proven track record in developing market-leading RFIC transceiver technology solutions. Technical mentoring will be available from all in the team and we will allocate a dedicated mentor to oversee the continuing development of your technical skills.

Preferred Qualifications | Ideally you should have some knowledge in or direct experience of the following: Strong lab experimentation and measurement skills. Able to work independently to evaluate and debug system options on lab emulator platforms. A mathematically based understanding of radio transmit and receive techniques at frequencies <500MHz, e.g. analogue & digital modulation schemes, transmit & receive line-ups. Good mathematical modelling skills using common tools such as MATLAB. An understanding of analogue circuit techniques for <50 0MHz operation As a bonus, the following skills would be very useful: An understanding of general radio transmit and receive techniques at frequencies up to several GHz. Understanding of general analogue circuit techniques. Understanding of lab measurement methods for complex radio systems. Working knowledge of Verilog-D.
