TTP has recently spun out an exciting new start-up company, TTP Ventus, to commercialise its Disc Pump technology. Disc Pump is a revolutionary micropump technology based on acoustic resonance which won a Business Innovation award from the Institute of Physics in 2012. As a key contributor to an exceptional team, you will create new technologies, develop next-generation designs which significantly extend the pump’s pneumatic capability as well as supporting the development of existing pump designs.

We seek a technically excellent, hands-on team player with strong experimental and analytical skills, particularly in the areas of mechanics, fluidics, and acoustics.
We are looking for an individual who combines the intellect and creativity required to solve tough technical problems with the hands-on practical skills and common sense needed to put their solutions into practice. The ideal candidate will be required to carry out high quality work on next generation prototypes and products, as well as hands-on testing and experimental work, relating observations to electromechanical, fluidic, and acoustic theory. Strong written and verbal communications skills are important to enable clear, concise dissemination of information across the team.
Knowledge of micron- to mm-scale production processes such as chemical etching, laser welding, and laser machining will be an advantage, as will experience of the modelling, assembly, and test of piezoelectronic actuators. Also of benefit are good software skills, particularly relating to automated test systems and data capture and analysis.
You must be able to work flexibly as part of a small and agile team, yet demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
